you feel as though (( the time )) is not your own

and the only thing that gets you going

is being (( on time ))

your debt

the ticking of someone else's roll

perhaps it's time

to hit the country

and go.

i'm not saying to leave;

just go.

wrap up things

or leave them behind

take your tunes

your brains

your heart

cut open the earth,

and go.

those things that keep you back

are not really so important (( at all ))

take your colors and your spirit,

your laugh, your spit and even your fall.

your fingers and pen.

your animals, your men.

your fist and your key.

just leave your watch

cut out of the earth

and go.
